What a true statement we have our guys and girls running hard to go to, return from and process orders from boat show season. Our latest was the Miami Boat Show that ended on Monday, and we had a great time there meeting people from all over and answering their questions on marine electronics from easy to hard ones. We did manage to sell a few radars, GPS, Fishfinders, Chartplotters and everything else associated with them, from glass helms to 18′ fishing boats whether inland or offshore fishing. It was great to have support from our manufacturers near as well. thanks to the crews from Garmin, Furuno, Raymarine, Si-tex, and Navico, Icom, KVH, Standard Horizon, Viking and any other manufacturer I may have forgotten. We appreciate their support and have a great deal of confidence in offering their products for sale. We are off to the Atlantic City Boat Show next week and the show runs Feb 28 through Mar 4 and we are looking forward to it. I will have more info next week on the show and new products that may be coming your way.
News from Miami
Good Morning and I hope your week has been great. Really not much to report from the Miami Boat show so far. Garmin released some new Reactor Auto Pilots that will make finding the correct one easier and operation to be easy as well. The also released another version of the GPSMAP 12X2 which is now a touch screen. Raymarine just announced newer versions of their Axiom line with even more Apps running on their new Lighthouse 3 software. I am sure more will be announced over the weekend and I will share more details on these and whatever else comes from the Miami Boatshow. Back on Monday.
Back from the NYC Boat Show
Yes everyone is back and accounted for from the New York City Boatshow and we had a great show, we met a lot of nice people we can now call friends, and some of them customers. I have to take a line to thank our manufacturers for their support so here they are: Lowrance, Simrad, Standard Horizon, Sitex, Viking, Shakespeare, Navionics, C-Map, McMurdo, KVH, Icom, ACR and of course Garmin, without these guys and girls there really wouldn’t be a need for us to participate. Thanks again. Scott and Brian are catching their breath and gearing up to leave for Miami next week so if you are visiting warm weather and want new radars, GPS/Chartplotter, fishfinders, running lights or virtually anything in marine electronics pack your bags and head to the show. great prices and an opportunity to speak with all the manufactures and advice from professionals. You just can’t beat it. Hope to see some of you there and please follow on this blog because i will be bringing information on new releases as fast as they are released. Until next week stay safe.

I recommend anyone looking for marine electronics to visit us in our booth # C817, you will receive great and knowledgeable customer service and our best prices of the year. This is the time of year to think about your Marine Electronics even if you are under snow cover now. It has been cold here in the south for a week now but I think this is the end of it for us. Forecast is now for high 50’s and 60’s for the next week and it only gets better from there, I Hope. i know our Boat Show Team is looking forward to Miami, and warm weather to work in, as well as talking to friends new and old. Talk soon so I will see you next week.
Boat Show Season 2018
It is true that we are now entering our Boat Show season for 2018. Wednesday starts the 2018 New York City Boat Show that we have been part of for around 10 years now. It is always to kind of shake off the rust from the winter and start talking to boaters whether they are sail boaters, commercial fishermen, recreational boaters and fishermen as well. anyway you slice it it is great to talk to them about what their needs are, and if we can help them. It is not always a new system it could be just a new cable or piece to enhance the capability of their system. The show in New York starts tomorrow and runs through Sunday, I will be trying to keep you updated on any new products that might be announced by any of the manufacturers we represent so stay tuned. Well the Super Bowl is set for another year and once again the Patriots are in it. I don’t know whether to go any further with this statement other that to say good luck to the players, fans, and coaches of the Philadelphia Eagles, and New England Patriots. Let’s have a safe one on all sides. stay tuned.
It looks like the weather is going to warm tomorrow
I know it is hard to believe for the people in the north that are now below freezing for the next 3 months but it is tough on the people in the south. Most or the buildings are not designed to handle extended cold. Pipes are freezing and HVAC units can’t keep up with heating the space they are covering, and so it goes on. So tomorrow and for maybe the next week we will be in the 50’s and 60’s and our snowbirds will be on the golf courses. I saw on Yahoo news this weekend that a case of soda in Costco in the state of Washington was going for $10.49 with $7.49 tax on top of it. Now this seems a bit harsh but if you like living in Washington state I guess you will pay for it. We are keeping a pretty tight lip on what is going on for our first Boat Show of the season NYC. I am sure I will have more info for you in the near future so stay tuned.
And a new year starts
Happy New Year to everyone and lets hope it is a great and safe one for all. Yes we wound up 2017 with a great year and it was because of your our customers, we hope we earned your trust with our service and pricing where we could do anything. I know, looking at it from the inside, our staff works hard for each and every one of our customers whether it is for $10.00 or $10,000.00 we want to earn your business and trust. We are now going to enter into our Boat Show season for 2018, so you can look for us at New York City, Miami and Atlantic city so from late January until early March we will be working hard to show you who we are and what we offer. Marine season starts early here in the south and also so for Boat Show goers in the north. I will be back with you a little later with more information on what we are doing.
Happy Holidays for 2017
The Christmas Season is winding down and we are catching our breaths here at The GPS Store, we still have time to get last minute gifts to you but please don’t wait past today. I hope all is taken care of for presents for the ones you are gifting this year and your family and friends that are traveling arrive safely, and your Christmas is a happy one this year. Until next week have a great Holiday however you celebrate it, and thanks for reading me in 2017.
Where has the time gone?
It is hard for fathom that the Christmas Season for 2017 is almost behind us. It seems like Thanksgiving was just yesterday but we know it wasn’t. I hope no one gets caught because Christmas is on Monday this year. That takes away three days for delivery of your presents so the last day for delivery would be 12/22. Orders placed on 12/20 for two day delivery is no guaranteed any longer but will in most cases get to you on time. I hope you understand that, with the volume of packages being sent over the holidays, all of the carriers have trouble keeping up no matter how much extra help they add. That being said we still put our trust in them to deliver on time, and they make it happen. Just a reminder that orders placed over this weekend will get to you before Christmas but each day you wait it could get more expensive for delivery charges. One last thing, when calculating 2 day shipping, an order placed on Thursday for two day delivery, would get there on Monday normally but this year make it Tuesday. I hope you have a great weekend and most will be shopping, like me, for stocking stuffers. I will be back to you next week one more time so stay safe.
Please don’t wait to order for Christmas
Unfortunately this year there is an incident and disaster going on at the same time. Around the Memphis hub for Fedex there have been Lightning storms that have caused flight delays and in California the wild fires are causing delays in both pick up and deliveries as well. We here at The GPS Store want every one of our customers to receive what they purchase from our store on time, whether it is for no occasion or for a birthday, Christmas or whatever the event may be. If you can order early please do, it gives you the best chance of receiving your order in time even if it experiences a delay because of natural disaster or human error. Please take the time to look at our specials today and remember we are adding to the list periodically. We have 19 days until Christmas today and not all of them are shopping days so don’t delay. I will be back to you later to keep you up to date as to what is happening and what we are offering.
